This is about the 5th lesson..... Miss Hampton said that we needed to start drawing beautifully! Using ink and many more items.
Mrs Hampton started demonstrating in the beginning of the lesson by using a Husky dog and draw it so beautifully... She told us that we need to do a quick sketch throughout the dog and not add in too much detail before using paint.
She drew it quickly and made the husky's face a bit wide but it was sooooooooo cute, she said work through what you can see and draw it out. We all had to use our imaginations and be very hand-quick throughout our drawing.
There were certain ways that we would hold our pencils or brushes......... and they made the quality of the art work being produced differently, every artwork has it's own distinctiveness.
Later on, Miss Hampton started using ink, she did not particularly use the colour of the dog's fur, she used different colours, in fact it made the dog stand out much more. She used a magnificent purple. That purple had a powerful sense of feeling which made the husky look cheerful and delighted and full of action & wonder. She coloured the shadows first (e.g. eyes, under her chin....) Then afterwards, she used a second colour that was lighter ( pale pretty yellow) and she coloured the husky with the colour and swirled her brush in different ways using special techniques.
Finally, Miss Hampton had finished drawing the wonderful husky, I thought it was gorgeous and I couldn't take my eyes of it. Another teacher came and said that the picture will be a demonstration for all classes to learn to draw and paint.
It was my turn, and i think that it was really hard. I turned picking a tiger as my animal to draw and paint. I didn't do what Miss Hampton said, and that was to sketch quick-handed. I drew a bit too much detailed, it turned out very ugly and it looked like a weird, crazy panther! >_<>
Lastly, I painted and Miss Hampton came across and said how gorgeous it was which made me sooooo puzzled. She told me to observe with my eyes how I stood out the beautiful shadows and different level of colours that I used by only 1 colour ONLY. 1 colour ONLY! instead of 2 ~ 3 colours. She made me feel proud, but then I learnt many lessons of the process of drawing and painting. :)
The lesson had finally came to an end, I have loads of homework to do! :(
Anyway, for anyone who looks at my blog, work hard for art this year and do your best no matter what! It's gonna be FUN!!!!!!! :D
