1st Task Introducing Term 2

Term 2......... (Already a 1/3 of the year gone) :( ART...... this term is "MAKING MASKS"!!!

For the 1st lesson this term, we used the books that Ms Hampton borrowed of Mrs Sanberg. They were excellent, they had different kinds of catories of animals that we could choose from.

From the first steps of making masks, I shall mention the 3 animals that I chose are : Peacock (beautiful patterns :D), Tiger (So loyal and full of Beauty), and a dragon (Wise but don't know why I chose that ?!!?!!)

We had to divide up 4 boxes in one of the pages of our Visual Art Diary with each sections naming with Eyes, Details, Texture and Whole. For the eyes, we have to chose one of our animals to draw in great details of the eye. :D {I reckon it's not too good... hehe}

Next when we do the details, we have to find something particular of the animal, e.g. patterns... I did the patterns of the peacock.

After that, we do the texture, I chose the texture of the tiger, distinguishing the different features within the patterns of the tiger and the stripes in the direction that they go.

Then, we have to the whole picture of the animal that you are going to choose out of the three.

The homework is to complete that and also to draw the front & side of our animals. :D

Summary of Term 1

Throughout Term 1, we did lots of things in Art! To conclude and summarise what our class did was that we basically drew different stuffed toys or animals with different types of pencils (writing equipment). {Which includes ~ Charcoal, paintbrush, pencils, branch stick with ink...... [so forth.........]} In a few of our drawings we put light ink painting on our drawings. Sometimes dabbing the colours to contrast the lightness and darkness of the colour. Otherwise in the 2nd last lesson we tried once using the ink as a strong background before painting our pictures. Then when it is dried after 5 ~ 10 mins, we used at least 3 different coloured art crayons ranging up to maximum of 10 crayons, but then again the colours have to contrast to what we have done for the background and the light sketches. We also used the coloured pencils that were watercolour pencils (it was fun and BEAUTIFUL!!!! SMOOTH…… :D).
Also in Term 1, we did lots of contour lines. We also have to draw what we see right in front of our eyes, not what we imagine it looks like as a cartoon animal or something else. I tried my best….. :D
We used a lot of ink, I got use to drawing with the branches with black ink. It was pretty fun…. Anyway, it was a great term of Art.
For now the introduction of Term 2 is “MAKING MASKS!!!” J It will be loads of fun. (Well I hope…).
